Hi, I hope that you can help me. My name is Antwan Johnson and I am an 8 year military veteran still serving on Active Duty. On 7 February 2007, I ordered a set of 26 inch DVS Canal Wheels and tires from Motek Wheels and Accessories and John was the salesman. He gave me a quote of $3,400 plus shipping and handling, wheels mounted and balanced, lugs and locks with a total of $3,899. I agreed on the price. I then asked what type of payment would they accept and he replied quick collect through Western union and C.O.D. I stated that I would send half quick collect through Western Union and the other half would be paid with Cashiers Check upon arrival and he agreed. So I sent him a Western union for the amount of $1,949.50. Then I called to verify that he recieved payment and he stated that he did. Then he told me that I had to send him some more money because there is a fee for C.O.D.'s over $800.00 and he also went up on the total price from what he told me the first time, now he did all of this after I had sent in my first payment. I then stated that this is way more than the agreed price, it was actually $749.50 more than what he had quoted me before, so I stated that I wanted to cancel my order, then he said there was a 20% cancelation fee. In which I felt I didn't have to pay because he went up on the price of the wheels. I really wanted the wheels so I agreed. Now this brings the total up to $4,499. I then sent him another payment of $1,800 so that brings my balance down to $749.50 upon delivery.

 

He had told me to call back in a few days to get a UPS tracking number, so I called back 2 days later and he told me that the rims were out of stock, and it wouId be 3-4 weeks before they came in. At that point things started feeling suspicious to me so I called the company that makes the rims to see if they were on back order and they told me that they didn't even make the size wheel that I was looking for. The highest they came in where 24 inch. So he sold me wheels that didn't even exist. I called back to ask John about it, he stated that they did cause he called Atlantic, that's who makes them, but he didn't know that I had already called them. So once I told him I had called them, he was shocked and asked who I had spoken too. I couldn't remeber the persons name so I called back and got her name. Then I called Motek Wheels back to tell John who it was and his reply was: she's a feamle, she doesnt know what she's talking about. And he said eventually they will make the rims. I then asked John for a full return and he said there would bea 20% fee, I asked how could he do that when he sold me something that didn't even exist. So, he said he would send me a company check for like $2,800 and some odd change. He said it would toake 5-10 business days, and I have yet to even see that. I would like to get back the money I sent Motek Wheels which is $3,749.50. If you can help me in any way please do so.

In May 2008 I places and order with eddie from motek wheels. I was told I would have the wheels in a week.I sent 900.00 to western union. When I called back he said the wheels would be sent out the next day and I could get the tracking information. Well noone ever called me back so I called them back two days later only to hear my wheel package was out of stock. He told me to choose diffrent rims. Well every single rim I picked out, they had another excuse on why they didnt have them. Then eddie try to tell me I owed more money and that if I sent the rest they wold send out my rims. I was not about to send any more money after all this so I asked for my money back. I was told I had to pay a restocking fee. I didnt understand restocking fee for what they didnt even have any of the rims in stock. i was very upset but agreed to the fee thinking I would at least get some of my money back.He said it would be two weeks before Id get my money back. Months pass by and nothing I called them over an over just to get the run around and stressed. I decided to call an attorney they advised my to file a complaint with California attorney general. So I did, motek responded that they had sent out my check. Well a month pass and no money I have written the attorney general again and I am now filing a civil suite against motek. I advise anyone who has been scammed to file a complaint with the california attorney general. It is easy you can do it online. This company needs to be closed down and people need to be given their money back. I am tired of their lies and games. I cant wait for justice to be served!!

My name is Veronica Moragne and I'd like to know how you went about getting your money back from Motek. My husband George ordered 3 sets of rims of a total of $5000 on 7-29 and still haven't received them. They also gave me the same story as you to say that they were out of stock then said that they had them in stock that it would be shipped the next day, only after telling them that i was contacting my lawyer and the better business bureau. As of today 8-21, 2008 I still haven't received them or been able to talk to a manager and they WON'T give me any information about their corporate office if they even have one. Could you please let me know how you handled your situation and maybe I can get some results. Could you please call or email me
