Medford Village Carpet & Flooring Our Complaint:
We had 372 sqare feet of rug installed in our bedroom in January 2006. It cost approximately $2000. The installation was a "cut and paste" look with seams in very high traffic areas. The carpet was not tacked properly in the closets. The men shortly returned to fix the closet problems, and to glue the seam in the high traffic area better. Also, where the door jam was to the hall, the cut was not straight, but rather wavy, by hand, not with a straight edge. This could not be fixed.
A year later, our rug is buckling in two spots, and our biggest problem is that we have a huge bubble along the wall to the closet. You trip over it as you approach the closet. We contacted the owner, Bill, who scheduled a repair date. On that date, my husband remained waiting for hours for the repair men to come. I personally visited Bill to find out why the repair men were not coming. They never showed up. We kept calling Bill to schedule a new date for repair, and he never has returned our phone calls to this date.
For $2,000, and over 15 years of purchasing rugs in every one of our rooms with his company under a prior name (J&B), we are aghast at his treatment of this problem.

The carpet was pieced in the closet to save the customer money, with the consumer's full knowledge. The new carpet in the doorway was to be seamed to worn and frayed carpet in the hall and was done in the most professional way possible. Installation mechanics returned to the customer's home at the consumer's request, and left with the understanding that the service rendered was satisfactory.
