IC System Collections

Good morning

Id like to share my story with you and hope others see it.

IC System Collections is a company that posted a derogatory remark on

my credit report.

It apparently had been on my report for quite some time but I hadnt

noticed until my insurance rates increased and I inquired about it.

I had an emergency room visit and was treated. I had been treated in

this particular hospital before and they had my previous address and

phone number on file. At the time of treatment I provided all my

current information including insurance, address, and phone number.

Logic tells me that the data entry person at the hospital put my name

in their computer and obviously my old information appeared. They must

not have noticed the changes to address and phone number because they

did not update it. When you visit a hospital it is always unclear when

and where your remaining balances will be sent and who will send them.

Often you may be billed from several separate institutions. Its very

confusing. I paid my co-payment and assumed any remaining balances

owed by me would come in the mail. Several months went by and I

received no bills no statements no phone calls. I assumed my insurance

company had paid the bill.

Low and behold because of the hike in my car insurance bill, I called

and found out about the past balance to the hospital for 107.00

dollars. I immediately called the collection company IC System

Collections and explained what happend. I immediately paid the balance

and asked them to please remove the remark from my credit report since

the error had been made at the hospital. They refused. Although they

did acknowledge in their file it was noted that mail sent to my old

address had been returned undeliverable and contact to my old phone

number had failed as well. They rudely accused me of trying to deceive

the hospital by providing false information. Logic would tell you that

I gave them my current insurance information which would have been

verified before treatment. When the bill was returned undeliverable

anyone with any common sense in the billing department should have

retrieved my current address and phone number from my insurance

provider. I did not try to deceive th

e hospital. The IC System Collections agents tone and demeanor was

patronizing and rude and bullying. I certainly didnt deserve this

treatment. My explanation of what happend should have made complete

sense. It was very logical. I was completely bullied and humiliated by

the agent who seemed to take a sadistic delight in talking down to me,

and was thrilled they had the power to impact my credit report. I

filed bankruptcy nine years ago and have worked extremely hard to pay

off past debts and redefine my credit rating which I might add is now

way above average. Lets be sane about this... would I have

deliberately not paid an amount like 107.00 dollars when I had worked

so hard to repair my credit? It doesnt make sense does it?

There was another small charge for about the same amount for the same

hospital visit with another medical billing collections agency

Financial Control Services. They were extremely polite and too

acknowledged the obvious error made by the hospital and removed their

remark from my credit report.

The agent at IC Systems Collections deliberately badgered me and

chastised me until I blew a fuse and swore at them. For that

chastising i pay the price of having that remark on my report for

several years. This kind of bullying should be illegal. I hope the IC

Systems Collections agents reap the kharma they deserve, for no

responsible human being should suffer that kind of dehumanizing

treatment for an error made by someone else.
