Wachovia - overdraft - no one knows what's going on

I used my Wachovia checking account to pay bills; therefore I have transfer funds from time to time to Wachovia. On 12-26-2006, the fund arrived one day late; so about $2400 went into my Wachovia Visa credit card under the overdraft protection. I asked to speak to the branch manager on 3rd Ave and 78th Street in NY. He assured me that I would not have to pay any fee or interest, because the $2400 is a cash advance that is like a regular credit card purchase. As long as I pay my balance in full when I get my statement, I'll be fine. I wanted to make sure, since I had sufficient money to pay off the balance right away; but because the manager said there would be no finance charge, we agreed that I could just wait. When I got my statement on or about 1-20, (statment ending on 1-10-07, due date on 2-4), there was a $21.91 finance charge. I called customer service right away. The male agent told me that it was a one time charge regardless of what the amount was. I asked that if I paid the entire balance in full, would I still be incurring any interest at all after that. He said no. So the entire balance from 12-11 to 1-10, including the $2400 and the $21.91 finance charge was paid in full on 2-2-07, 2 days before the due date. When I received my next statement (ending date 2-10), another $30.72 fiance charge appeared. I called customer service again today, 2-20. This time a female agent told me that I was still incurring interest, because until they received my payment. I told her everything had paid in full, and early. She then said that until I paid off my bills for 2 full cycles, I'd still be incurring interest. So, I clarified with her, that if I had not called her today, I could still be paying interest until I receive my next statement. And she said yes. She replied that the only way to wipe everything clean was that she could give me a pay out figure; and if I pay off all of my credit card charges up to today, which would be about $329.31 (which included the $30.72 fiance charge for the $2400 that I had paid off, and other purchases which had nothing to do with the $2400 at all!) in 24 hours, and don't use my card anymore for a few days just to be sure, then all of the interest charges could be stopped once I pay the $329.31. I then went to the Morristown Branch office. The female representative was first of all surprised that I was not charged for another $5.00 standard bank fee. But she was confused herself as to why a second finance charge. After another phone call to customer service, she explained that I had to pay interest from 12-26 to 2-2, which were what the 2 finance charges for. She insisted that if I had bothered to call and find out how much I owed and paid everything off right away all of this could have been avoided. I told her, I did, and was given 3 different pieces of info each time! She said there was nothing that she could do; and customer service would not authorize for the finance charge to be canceled. So, I am being punished financially for their own mistake, or shall I say, calculated misrepresentation. I think this is outright deceptive.
