Chase Bank Customer Service

Chase Bank Customer Service On the back of the Chase Bank Card it says: "For 24 Hour Customer Service call: 1-800-832-2088" A call to that number gets a recording: "Our customer service center is closed our hours are..." What exactly does "24 Hour" mean? Is it per week? --Michael From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Tuesday, 20-Feb-07 02:10:02 CST Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This Comment On ThisApparently Chase has a late payment window, by which, if you make a payment towards your current statement you are charged a late fee when in fact you are paying early! I have written and not only will they not refund the late fees, but increased our apr due to "late payments." OUTRAGEOUS! Please consider any other bank when meeting your financial needs. When we called for help, we got the nicest lady to help us. I don't remember her name, but she was ept (opposite of inept), knowledgable, efficient, kind and calming. She was great. She deserves a raise and a Wendy's Frosty. On Friday July 24th, I entered into the Parmer Lane branch of CHASE banks in Austin, Texas. Even though I was not a depositor of Chase, I was able to utilize the banks ATM and receive cash. And they of course enjoyed charging me the $3.00 service fee for the transaction.
Upon receiving my cash from the ATM, I was in need of breaking a $20.00 for two $10.00's. What I thought and expected to be a simple exchange of cash for cash. Turned out to be a revealing and frustrating experience of NON-Customer Service!
First of all, I stood in line for 7 minutes (being completely ignored) by a Sr. teller who was obviously concerned about training someone on the computer. This teller literally took 7 minutes to even acknowledge me. and only because I asked "If someone could help me?" I know, because I was determined to remain calm and just see how long it would be for someone to acknowledge me (standing in a line with nobody behind me).
At this juncture this Sr. teller did not know if I was a wealthy Central Texas rancher, or a non-depositor, simply needing some change. When she finally did turn me over to the individual she was training on the computer, and he learned that that all I needed was two ten's for a twenty; he enlightened me that "because I was not a depositor with Chase, that he could not assist me with getting change for a twenty."
So taken back by this absurdity, I said "you mean to tell me, that I have to be a Chase customer to get change?" He responded that was correct. I went on to communicate that at 53 years of age, I had been in hundreds of banks all over the country in my lifetime and never heard of anything so ridiculous. At that moment, the experienced teller stepped back in to the conversation, and said "Well banking has changed Sir, but we will make an exception just this once, in hopes that you may come back and open an account with us!"
You got to be kidding me! And Chase calls this Customer Care or Customer Service? On the contrary, I intend to share with as many people as I know, via email, letters to the editor, and or contacts along my journey- NOT to bank with a company such as Chase that has such a low regard for basic customer service!
And for all you folks needing change for a garage sale on Saturday morning- forget it, you better go to Wal-Mart or the local 7-11 for change. Or another bank that understands customer care and service. Unless you have a Chase account, you'll be high and dry.
It is amazing to me, that in America, we have arrived at such a place as we have where banks really do not care about people. No wonder they are in the mess that they are in. I wish I had communicated to this branch, that as a TAX PAYER, and being part of the national banking bail out, I would expect that I could come in ANY TIME, and get cash for cash. I guess not. Hmmm I wonder if I was President Obama, if I would get two ten's for a twenty? Perhaps I will write him next and suggest that he invite these people (from Austin and Chase) to the White House, to discuss such absurd matters.
Please...do me a favor, forward this to as many people as you know!

I am tired of them saying that they have this and that. They do not have 24 hr anything. This is getting the point that when I want to talk to someone they don't care to talk to me. This makes me feel like they really don't want my bussiness. I can always go some where else. I am also tired of every time I put a check in the ATM they tell me that I am standing there playing take out money and putting it back in. This doesn't happen when I go into the bank and make the deposit. What is going on with the ATM's and the customer service people don't you know that if you want people you need to work with them. I want to hear from some one on this. None of the phone selections met my needs, and it is impossible to reach a living person.
