Warranty Exchange with Cingular wireless.

Warranty Exchange with Cingular wireless. In May of 2006 I terminated my contract with US Cellular because Cingular seemed too offer much better service in my area and was “told” they were better. Now its January of 2007 my phone is messed up and I haven’t done anything to it. I went to a nearby Cingular store and the salesman also told me that he couldn’t see any physical damage and gave me the warranty number. I called the number and it seemed easy for me to get a replacement phone and I clearly asked if I could get another color of phone or if it had to be the exact same one. They told me if it wasn’t the same it would void the warranty and I would have to pay the full retail amount of the phone. Just like another complaint on here I trusted the salesman. They asked me what kind of delivery I wanted and I said I wanted the quickest delivery which was 2-day and would be charged to my next bill, and I agreed. So on Monday January 29, 2007 I ordered the phone and they said since it was early enough my cell would be in on Tuesday. I never received my new phone on Wednesday so I called Cingular Customer Service and they told me there was nothing they could do since they had no control over the mail and connected me with DHL (the delivery company). DHL told me it would be at my house Wednesday before 5:00 P.M, so I left work early because they told me someone had to be there to sign for it or they wouldn’t leave it. At 5:30 I still hadn’t seen my phone. I called Cingular again explained and they logged on to my account and told me that DHL tried to deliver my phone Wednesday at 4:49 p.m. DHL called shortly after and told me it would be delivered Thursday… Well guess what Thursday came and I never saw my phone. So once again I called Cingular had to go through all the steps, at this point I am extremely furious. Cingular contacts DHL again and they told the Cingular Rep. that they tried to deliver it Thursday around 11:00 am again! I was at home during this time as well. We clarified my address and gave them directions to my front door. Thursday night I called DHL myself and they told me that they wouldn’t even attempt to deliver again till “maybe” Friday since they already had twice! He asked me if I wanted to make arrangements for my phone to be delivered somewhere else but my friend and I were suppose to be going on a trip and leaving Friday so there was no where else for it to go. Friday morning I had to drive an hour to Tulsa and get the phone myself. I opened the box and it wasn’t even the right cell phone. Now I have called Customer Service again, connected with their warranty department and got absolutely no where. This is by far the worst experience ever. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. Trust me if there is a certain phone you want, another company has a better one and you wont go through this. I have had US Cellular and I would switch back in a heartbeat. That isn’t the only bad experience I have had with them though. About 2 weeks before all this, I had bought a new phone charger, because the original suddenly stopped working. Well it was bad because it turned out just to be the outlet in my house so I didn’t need the new one. I went to a closer cingular store because I originally bought the charger while I was at a mall about an hour away shopping. So I go to the store and tell him I want to return it… He says I can’t return it there because I bought it at another Cingular store. I bought the charger at a store called Red Sky Wireless in Woodland Hills Mall, Tulsa Oklahoma. This store looks no different than any other Cingular, on the top of the entry it has the huge orange logo and that’s it. The “authorized agent” Cingular store told me it had to be there because it wasn’t a Cingular product. I find it hard to believe that this store can use the Cingular trademark, packaging materials, and let me pay my usual $200 month phone bill, but when it comes times to get my money back then its too bad.
