Academy Collections Service Inc.

I was contacted by Academy Collections Service Inc. ACS to resolve a debt. They can be found through a general Internet search and are based out of PA.

I called them back the next day at the number left on my voice mail to negotiate payment terms and a settlement. The person who answered the phone was named Mrs. Cook. Her number is 1-800-441-6881 extension 4394. During the negotiations she didn't like my offer and rather than negociate like an adult and in a professional manner she actually hung up on me. What kind of business has their employees hanging up on potential customers? Just because someone does not like what you are saying is never a reason to hang up on a customer. I have never in my adult life as a professional had a business actually hang up on me. Is this a standard practice at ACS to get people to feel bad then call them back a couple days later? Sounds like a school ground psychological game to me. Professional people discuss, talk, communicate and come to an agreement. I think its deplorable that Diner Club Card Services uses ACS or is even affiliated with them at all when they treat customers like that.

In addition, Diners Club released my parents home phone number they have had for 30 years to ACS. You know what ACS did with that phone number? They called them at all hours of the day and night trying to get my phone number. All they had to do was look in the records, my number was printed right in there. This is simply a lack of respect for their clients and customers and it shows what sort of people work in the collections industry.

In reading other complaints about ACS I see they are truly a "gem" in modern American business. In all reality they should be banned by the public as a nuisance. Mrs. Cook, where ever you are, enjoy your day of hanging up on people and making the world a darker, bleaker place.
