Dell Computers 02/19/07:
First of all, never buy from Dell. I purchased a laptop in August 2006 with a Complete One Care warranty - the best (supposedly). Two weeks ago, my dog sat on top of the laptop and the LCD burned out or whatever.
I have tried without any success to get my laptop sent in for repair. First, when I reached them 10 days ago (finally), I was told that a box would be sent to me to ship my laptop back for service. Of course, this never arrived. When I tried today to reach Dell, after one hour, I was finally connected to this third-world idiot who tried to tell me that I would have to pay for service, even though I had Complete One Care. When I told him that he was wrong, he then put me on perma-hold. After 30 minutes, I hung up. I then tried to e-mail their department, but, of course, no one answered. I am very very frustrated with Dell. Warning: no matter how attractive their packages seem to be, don't buy from Dell! They love to sell, but have absolutely no ability to provide any type of coherent customer service. It seems that they must hire from the Mideast exclusively, as I can never speak with anyone who knows English or can speak clearly. I will never never never buy from them again and I will let everyone I know about their horrendous customer service!
I finally tried one last time. The nice lady (again from overseas) kept assuring me that she wouldn't put me on hold for more than two minutes, the call would be conferenced, and that she would see to it that my problem would be answered. Guess what! On hold again forever. Finally, my husband's cell phone went dead. I am going to stop paying Dell their payments, perhaps this is the only way to speak with someone from that company.
Never buy from Dell. Buy from an American company that services and helps from this country.
