Home Depot carpet

Chehalis Washington Home Depot

January 2007 I went to the Home Depot for carpeting. I was told they had to have one of their associates come to my house to measure so I went ahead and scheduled this although I had the room measurements with me. There was a $50.00 charge for this. The man came to my home and measured the room and came up with 34 sq yds but because of a pattern match he needed to add 10 sq yds making a total of 44 sq yds. I was contacted by Home Depot with the estimate for my carpet they said the measure came out to 55 sq yds and the carpet had been ordered and would take 2 weeks for delivery. I immediatly said woa!! It measured at 34 sq yds and the estimater added 10 sq yds for pattern match why are you charging me for 10 more sq yds plus padding for this extra now 20 sq yds? I was told the estimater had no right talking to me about measurements and this is what the room measured out and the carpet was ordered I could not back out as it was to late. I said I never agreed to order the carpet it was just an estimate for now. Well after many more phone calls to Home Depot and 2 store trips the carpet was cancelled and I got my $50.00 credited back. Now I wonder how many people were charged for carpet and padding they never got
