AOL I canceled my AOL service in September. I did not get a cancelation number. At the same time, I was having problems with my credit card (unauthorized charges) and canceled by credit card. In December I started receiving calls from AOL stating I had a balance due of $15.90 and they wanted a credit card over the phone. I asked what the charges were for and they never told me over the phone. The calls kept coming, and I would call AOL and tell them that I canceled by account and they acted like I was a liar. Since my account was on a month to month basis you would think that when my credit card was canceled it they would have switched me to the "free" plan?? One time when I called they told me I was on the free plan back in May? Now that does not make sense? Finally, I got someone at AOL that said I could send a check in, any other time they said it was credit card only. However they never gave me a address. Every day "Maria" with AOL calls and ask if we are going pay..... Finally, I got AOL to send me a bill in the mail, it arrived on 1/13/07. On 1/15/07 "Maria" calls again and said were going to pay our bill. I told her I just got the bill and the post office is closed today but I will get a stamp tomorrow. Well, "Maria" called twice today 1/16/07. I called AOL and told their customer service person they had better not call me anymore, and now I'm NOT paying the bill. She said I now on the DO NOT CALL LIST, and if they call she said said to call 888-827-6463. My account number is 0468114400. On my bill there are not individual charges, so I have no idea where the $15.90 comes from. The number to "Maria" is 888-265-8003. I don't understand why they are so rude when they call and why they don't want to help. There is not a manager for you to talk too. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. 1/18/07 called the 888 number and guess what? It is busy all the time. I called the billing department and told the girl that I received yet more calls today, she was obnoxious, she said at one point "this is not customer service" I said "you got that right, this is NOT customer service" and I have filed a complaint with BBB. She said they have even turned in accounts for $4, AOL is obviously going downhill to say the least.
