Avon, Ohio I signed up with Centurytel DSL high speed internet and local long distance for a total monthly bill of $88.00. Was specifically told by sales person my next bill would be $88.00 and no more. Did have to add on a modem which is $30.00 and will be billed in 2 installments. When I received my bill the total was $253.04. When I called their 800 number I was told that the sales person forgot to mention the inflated first month cost( and all the add-on charges) and that they needed to include this in their training program. If I had known all of this I would have never signed up. Now Im stuck with the service because if you cancel before 1 year, they penalize you for 12 months of service. What a scam!
