I, Tracey Bell purchased a 2006 G6 GT Coupe on January 13, 2006 at Lou Fusz Pontiac GMC on Page and Lindbergh in St Louis, MO.
The car is fully loaded, black on black. The car was driven from Sullivan, MO from another dealership. Once the car was here in ST. Louis it had 74 miles on the dashboard.
After I filled out all the required paperwork, I was then taken to the showroom floor to look at the vehicle and drive it away. I immediately noticed numerous scratches and scuff marks on the vehicle due to the way the Porter’s had cleaned the vehicle. It was wiped very poorly and was not immaculately clean as I expected it to be. After the dealership had the Porter’s use loads of compound on the vehicle to try and make the appearance better, I was still not satisfied. This was at 1030pm at night.
I was then asked to come back on January 17, 2006 to have the car detailed again.
My car was then sent to THE SHINE SHOP to get detailed and buffed. The car came back looking clean, but then was it was washed, you could see swirl marks in the vehicle from the buffer that they had used. The clear coat was ruined. I also that morning that the bumper and the rest of the car was not the same color…it had a brown affect to it.
I called the dealership again and complained and they asked me to bring the car once again. I was not able to bring the car to the shop, so the owner of THE SHINE SHOP picked up my vehicle from work. Once they brought the vehicle back, I noticed the same problem with swirl marks.
I called the dealership again, then a salesman came and picked up my car from work. They say that had it detailed and I still saw the same swirl marks in the paint. I also noticed that the car and the bumpers did not match. I then called Pontiac Customer Service and started a file case with them. My case was then transferred over to the BBB Auto Line with Pontiac.
I then had another process done to the car to try to remove the swirl marks. It was also discovered that the car had an orange peel to the paint and that the car had been painted slightly poorly.
A Pontiac Manager came to Lou Fusz Pontiac from Florida on April 6, 2006 and saw my car, he wanted another process and procedure to be done to the car again. I explained to him that I paid $24, 2000 cash for this vehicle and that I did not want another process and procedure done. I explained to him that I wanted the car painted and or replaced. I then called Lou Fusz Jr. (the owner) and explained my situation to him. I then received a call back stating that they would repaint the car and put me in a rental car. I was in a rental car from April 7, 2006 until April 19, 2006. Since then, my car still has not been corrected. The body shop at Lou Fusz is claiming they painted the car, but it still has some defects on the car.
Lastly, I have spoken to Philip Fusz about replacing the vehicle and he told me that he could not help me in that matter and that I would need to call the BBB and ask for a buy back program. I have filed a compliant with the BBB in St. Louis, the BBB Pontiac line, Contact 2, the Attorney General’s office and Consumer Affairs and any other organization that I can’t remember right now. Pontiac General Motors did not want to assist me in this matter because I have since then traded in the vehicle on July 6, 2006. When I traded in the vehicle, there was a notice of the bad paint job, peeling of the paint and an orange peel affect to the paint on the vehicle. I have the vehicle for 6 months and could not get anyone to replace the vehicle because of the poor paint job. I want to be refunded the money I put down on the vehicle as well as what I have spent to purchase the vehicle. Thank you.
