Sears Rebate program

I am a retired army veteran and purchased refrigerator from the Sears store here in San Antonio, Texas. I really hate your program for FREE delivery when in fact it costs me more. Also you can never receive the rebate until after you complain and/or wait 9 or more weeks. This is stupid. Also, here in Texas, they TAX you delivery charge, so in fact I'm paying $5.28 (@8.125%) more on a $65.00 charge than your FREE rebate allows. Doesn't sound FREE to me.

So here I sit still waiting for my rebate since December 10, 2006. Even if and when it comes, I will still be short $5.28. If SEARS really had FREE delivery service, then there should be no charge at all from the beginning. Oh, but wait, if SEARS keeps you money from thousands of customers like me for 2 or 3 months, the interest on the money will help offset the rebate. Maybe even cover the entire amount, since many customers will not file for the rebate at all. I guess SEARS counts on some of that.

There are many stores here in San Antonio that offer FREE delivery service. Home Depot, Lowe's, CONN's, etc. I just cannot continue to do business with SEARS when so many other options are available.

I am going through the same thing after buying a $900 front loading washing machine. I called Sears to complain only to get a third world person going by the name of JOE!I have had better service from a concrete block. But..I will buy the $900 matching dryer from Lowes, even if it costs more b/c I refuse to be handled by Sears again...SEARS SUCKS!
