Failure To Deliver Dear Sir or Madam, This Valentine's Day was the first time I have placed an order with FTD, and judging by your abject failure to follow through, it will be the last. Yesterday was the first Valentine's Day for my new wife and me. With my hectic work schedule I was counting on a delivery of flowers to at least offset the fact that I would only be able to come home for a late dinner. Following the old military axiom of "two is one and one is none," I ordered two bouquets earlier in the week with the minimum expectation that at least one would be delivered prior to 9PM on Valentine's Day. Much to my chagrin, when I finally arrived home, instead of looking like the new husband that had at least enough foresight to order flowers for delivery, thanks in no small part to your Failure To Deliver service, I instead looked like the feckless chump lacking even the rudimentary consideration to stop off and pick up gas station flowers. You can rest assured that when I deploy overseas this year, the 450 soldiers with me will be well-versed in your careless, hit and miss delivery practice. I will do my level best to ensure that the word-of-mouth network in theater will spread the news of your poor performance record compared to 1800flowers will spread faster than rumors of early re-deployment. Please do not waste my time or email inbox space with piss-poor excuses about Valentine's Day being your busiest time of the year, and please do not try to pass the buck off to your local merchants. Customers don't want to hear how hard you think your job is. Customers don't want to hear about how you "try." Customers just want you to deliver. And if there is a reason why you can't deliver, customers would like to receive a call, so that they know in advance they will now have to do your job for you.
