On February 2, 2007, I took a purse to have the zipper replaced to the U.S. Cleaners located at 7526 Annapolis Road, Lanham, Maryland, along with other items to be cleaned. The merchandise was picked up from the cleaners on February 10. I later found out I was charged $18.00 to have an old zipper head put back on track. While closing the bag on February 12, I discovered that the zipper was not replaced or repaired correctly, but that I paid $18.00 to have the old head of the zipper put back on the zipper track. On February 15, the bag was returned to the merchant for correction. The owner (female) admitted that she did not put a new zipper head on the bag and called me a liar when I stated that I asked for a new zipper. The owner of Chinese decent stated that she would now put a new head on the zipper catch. I stated that I was willing to pay the difference to have new zipper since this was not done the first time (merchant stated the cost to replace the bag was $35.00). The merchant refused to accept the difference, stating that services were rendered and that I would have to pay $35 to have the zipper replaced. The merchant grabbed the bag and slammed it on the counter and insisted that all she was willing to do was replace the zipper head and after that she would not do anything else. The merchants response and unwillingness to correct this problem was intimidating. I did not leave my bag and decided to let someone know that this occurred. I am very displeased with what occurred.

I told the owner that because she was being unreasonable I would not patronize the business any longer. She responded with her hands and shoulders that indicated that was no big deal. I’ve patronized this business for over 7 years and to be treated as such is an indication that this merchant is only concerned about taking your money without giving good customer service.
