Maytag Dehumidifier Model #M7DH65 B2A, leaking

On June 6, 2006 I purchased a Maytag dehumidifier Model # M7DH65 B2A at Home depot in Newmarket, Ontario. Over the next month I noticed that there was always a puddle of water under the appliance and eventually discovered that there was a leak directly onto the bottom of the dehumidifier that missed the reservoir completely.

After checking with Home Depot (they would not do anything about a 2 month old appliance, I had to go the manufacturer). After checking out your website I found that the nearest authorized service depot was M.R. Service at 110 Ironside Cr. Unit 27 in Scarborough, Ontario. This is 50 km. from my home.

In late August I took the unit to M.R. Service and described the problem. The technician said he thought he knew what was wrong and that he could repair it within the hour. This was good news as it saved me another trip to pick up the repaired dehumidifier. Unfortunately when I got home I found that the problem was not fixed and that the same leaking was occurring. I made a return trip to M.R. Service on September 27 to report that the problem hadn't been fixed. This time I left the unit at the depot and I was assured that it would be checked out thoroughly and repaired before it was returned to me.

I heard nothing for 6 weeks but I called in early November to find out that it was ready and I then picked it up on Nov. 15th.

In the rush of things at that time of year and that fact that a dehumidifier is not needed in Ontario in the winter I did not check it out until recently and have discovered that it still leaks.

Having already driven 500 km. back and forth to the service depot with no positive result I am at a loss as to what to do next. I am also very angry that a brand new Maytag appliance should be this much trouble.

Please advise me what you can do to fix this problem with your product.
