Information Error
|
Information Error I received a very vague and urgent message from Michelle Ray at Academy Services instructing me to call them back as soon as possible. When I returned the call, I was still not informed of the nature of the call or what company I was calling back. Once I was able to be transferred out of reception, I spoke with Deborah Randall who was helpful and cooperative. She indicated that "someone" gave my name and work telephone number to Academy Services to collect a debt. It turns out that I am not the person for which the debt is being collected. Someone cross referenced my name and mixed up all the information. I am filing this complaint because the message I first received was very unprofessional and caused concern. I was not told where the caller was calling from nor what the reason for the call. Then when I returned the call, still more confusion with the receptionist. The most alarming part was that everyone I spoke to was asking me for personal information such as home phone number and social security number before I was even told what was going on! When I refused to provide this information I was told "I can't help you or research this further without your information". I want my personal information removed from your records and I would suggest some additional training for associates who leave messages for people to call them back.
