HDFC Credit Card - False promises A HDFC marketing agent sold the credit card to me on the promise that the there would be no "Annual/Membership fee". I was shocked to find that i was charged Rs.771.40 towards "Membership Fees" in my first statement (dated 10th March 2005). When i contacted the customer care, the officials suggested that my card application was not on "Life-time Free" offer as per their records and that i'm required to pay the fee to avoid late payment charges. I had no option at that time but to pay to avoid late payment fees. I was subsequently charged for the following year's "Annual Fee's" too. They don't have online banking for Credit Card customers and the customer care officials are the rudest i ever encountered.
