Toyota 4 door sedan
|
Toyota 4 door sedan I have two Toyota Corrolla's , a 2004 and a 2005. In both cars the air-sensor,regulator has stopped working because I used Purolator air filters as replacement parts. The dealorship tells me that the air-sensor was sanblasted becuase the Purolator filter is made of paper while the Toyota air filter is made of a special material that prevents damage to the air sensor.
There is NO mention in the owner's manual of what type of air filter is necessary as a replacement part. Since Toyota neglects to tell it's customers many owners have to replace their air sensors at a very high cost. It cost me 286 dollars to replace my air sensor and it appears that I will also have to have the other Toyota that my wife drives also replaced. I already spent 750 dollars to have the car serviced for the 60,0000 mile that was necessary and now I have to spend $286 more because of the lack of information that is given in their manual. When I takled to the dealearship they were sympathetic about the problem but very happy to have the extra business.
What should I do?
