American TV and Appliance - Furniture Store - Madison, WI East Side

I ordered and entire living room's worth of higher end furniture back on

November 27th of 2006 from American on Madison's East side. My salesman

was wonderful, but has since left the company. My furniture was finally

delivered yesterday, February 9th 2007, and the order was a mess!

My sectional sofa is completely unusable since were I to attach the

sections together the seating would face each other. Anyone who even

casually looked at this furniture could have seen this mistake!

In addition, my order was incomplete. I waited as long as I did so that

all pieces could be delivered at once and I would not incur additional

delivery charges. A recliner is missing and now I am told that it will

not be ready for delivery until the end of March! A table lamp was also

not delivered with my order.

After many phone calls to and from American yesterday, we found that our

sectional will take another 4-6 weeks to correct. The excuse: "This

stuff comes from Mexico and those people don't know the meaning of the

word fast down there." This is an actual quote form a manager at this

store to my husband. So not only have they messed up our order, taken an

enormous amount of time to get it to us and to correct it, the manager

has also made a racial slur against the people who build this furniture!

Personally, we are outraged.

American's way of "making up" this fiasco; The manager has taken $100

off an order of over $5000.00. I hardly think this makes up for what we

have had to endure to try to get our furniture from these people.

So we continue to live with a living room that is barely functional at

this point and will do so for another 4-6 weeks at the very least.
