Whirlpool Dryer & Maytag Cooktop

Whirlpool Dryer & Maytag Cooktop I purchased a Whirlpool Washer & Dryer as well at a Maytag Cooktop from Lowes Home Improvement in December 2004 when I built my first home. All of our appliances where purchased at one time and I spent well over 2500.00 for them all. The first problem started with the dryer about a year and 2 months after we purchased it. The heating element in it went out. A family member that is an electrician came out and looked at it and said yes, it was a bad heating element. I called customer service and they explained I was out of warrenty and there was nothing I could do but purchase a new heating element. I argued with them for about 30 minutes about how theier product she last longer than this but no luck the cosutmer service person was very rude. I emailed the company and they wanted me to pay one of thier tech's to come out and if I did that they would replace the part for free. I told them "No thanks" and had to pay 40.00 for the new part at a local repair place. Then, November of 06 the knobs on my cooktop starting breaking and 3 of them broke within days of each other all of them the same way. I called Maytag (which is owned by Whirlpool) and explained the situation. I was 5 days out of warrenty and the guy wanted me to pay 25.00 for 4 plastic knobs. We explained to him even though they were purchased at the begining of the month they were not installed and used until the end of the mont therfore we were not out of warrenty. The customer service man was rude to my husband and said if we faxed a copy of our closing to him he would allow it. I again emailed the company with my complaint and 1 month later have never recieved a response from them. This company has a very poor costumer service department and VERY POOR PRODUCTS!! NEVER BUY MAYTAG OR WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!
