To whom it may concern,
I would like to register a complaint about gametable4less.com. The company
is involved in fraudulent activity. They say they are the only importers of
game tables and that everyone in the country buys from them. I purchased a
table from them and they shipped it to me. They say it takes three days but
it actually was closer to three weeks to arrive. When it arrives, as
instructed by them and the delivery company, do not accept if the item is
damaged. Well the box was severely damaged. There was absolutely no way to
tell if the item was damaged, so the delivery was refused. The truck driver
agreed!! When I called about the item, the girl on the phone said that she
could not guarantee delivery for Christmas, she was not sure if that
specific table would be in stock. I said in that case, just cancel my
order. She tried to tell me that I could not get the table elsewhere and I
would pay more if I did. Trying to get me to keep the order. I still
requested a cancellation. A few days later I thought about it and inquired
about reviving the order if possible. I was emailed to call the company.
At this point, due to the attitude of the people and the hassle of it all I
decided to cancel and sent many emails to this affect. Everyone was
answered with an email telling me to call the David. Well, I am an internet
buyer, and frankly I did not want to call. That is the whole point of
ordering online!!!!!! I was told the refund would be processed. This was
back in November. It is now almost January and I have no refund. I sent
another email yesterday and was again told to call David. Finally, I called
and was told that there was nothing wrong with the table and they could ship
me one right away. I informed that it was a Christmas gift and no longer
necessary, since today id December 29th. The person, very rude, explained
to me that because there was no damage it would be considered a cancelled
order and I would be charged 30% restocking fee. There was no way anyone
could have known that the table was undamaged, with the condition of the
box. That is why it was returned. There are notes from the delivery driver
verifying the condition of the box. I think that this supposedly huge
company supplying the united states with game tables is a few inexperienced
people running things out of there house. I think that there intent was to
deceive and claim the restocking fee. Or maybe they are so small they spent
the restocking fee and don't have the money. Either way this is not how
businesses are run. I am a non practicing attorney that has operated a
business for 15 years that has 120 employees. I have purchased hundreds of
thousands of dollars worth of merchandise over the internet and I have never
had an experience like this. Clearly, these people do not know what they
are doing. I have never placed a complaint to any organization before,
however the incompetence and the rudeness of the people at Gametables4less
was incredible. Not to mention the pure bad business of not refunding the
entire amount. Although, that is why I am writing this complaint. The
nature of a .com business is exactly that. They do not need customer
service. Especially for large ticket items such as this. They will never
have nor care about repeat business. They don't care if I never use them
again. So I wanted to let anyone interested in a game table know to beware
of Gametable4less.com. after all of this all I need to do is call American
Express and I will get my money back anyway, but none of this needed to
happen.
