After buying a new hot water heater from Lowes 1 1/2 years ago it quit working. It has/had? a 6 yr warranty.We called whirlpool and after along drawn-out process we were told that a part had been recalled. We were told that a new part would be sent in +/_ 3 days unless we wanted to pay 18$ to ship next day. Not being partial to cold showers we agreed and received the part the next day. We installed the part an
d it fixed the problem. 1 1/2 months later the water heater quit again 2 days before Christmas. We hoped to be able to take it back to our local store for a replacement but were told that Lowes does not honor manufacturers warranties i. e. they just profit from selling cheap inferior products with no regard for their customers' inconveniance. I really thought that a company in business to supply service and products to the public , would be more concerned about PEOPLE. We drove 50 mi. to buy another brand from a competitor and I will attempt to install it tonite. We no longer shop at Lowes ,and would not recommend anyone else doing so.
