Dear Sir/ Madam Commissioner/s/ Operator #23,

Good day,

I would like to file a formal complaint against Americredit.

Unfortunately for me I have been a client of this company for about 16 months.

The problems are as follows –

I make payments for a car loan timely, using the Americredit website to make the payments, but yet Americrdit either loses my payments, holds my payments until atleast the 16th of each month, (which is 9-10 days after the payment is due), or does not credit my account.

I have sent proof to this company of my timely payments numerous times and yet they still have not corrected my account.

It is now about 16 months 13-14 of which I have been arguing with too many of the Americredit supervisors, proving to them our payments were made timely and correctly but yet the account is still wrong.

I have demanded the correct payoff figure for the vehicle but it is like I am talking to a wall.

I too am 1 of possibly 100,000 people this company is abusing with these business practices, and harassing collection calls and horrible business practices.

Americredit is also listed with the BBB due to it’s horrible business practices.

I have personally sent the BBB 3-5 letters complaining about Americredit, but Americredit seems to ignore my complaints.

Americredit has called me from Toronto, Canada, which makes me think they are trying to by pass American Consumer Protection Laws.

As a last resort I am asking both of your offices for guidance, and if possible would like to start a class action lawsuit. If you know of a legal firm that might be interested in handling a lawsuit against Americredit please recommend it.

In summary I have demanded the payoff amount to be correct and the account be up to date and correct. I would think that there are numerous people in the same situation as I am in and we would like to sue or be part of a class action lawsuit against Americredit and the dealer that processed my loan with Americredit VIP Auto in South Plainfield, NJ

americredit is owned by gmac, i also am having trouble making high intrest payments to them , they will not do anything to help me, no answers. just threats and repo people looking and threats to family friends and even my neighbors. they cant find my vehicle, gonna fight this criminal company, they repo vehicles ,sell them then get a judgement for a defficency,a gmac lets this happen and probably does the same.someone needs to stop this company.but im sure where just wasting our time.it a lawsuit can happen im in they need to be shut down.

I have also been screwed by americredit. I owe 2 payments and they repossessed my car!!!! I have filed BBB complaints with the Ft worth BBB and i have filed 2 complaints with the La Attorney General.

My financial situation has changed and it is very difficult for me to make my car payments. I contacted AmeriCredit by letter to see if I could refinance or if they could help me in some way and I received no response from them. I eventually called them and was told to go find another company to refinance through because they don't do refinacing. The problem is I am too upside down in my loan and have been unable to refinace with anyone else. I have been paying on my car now for about 2 1/2 years now & still owe about $9,000 more than my car is worth. I don't know what to do.

I have been ripped off by them also. If you are late on a payment they tack on $50 and call you up to 5 times a day. My payments are often credited incorrectly and they refuse to respond via email so I have record of their wrong doing. Horrible company.

If there is a Class Action suit filed against AmeriCredit, I also want to be a part of it. THEY ARE HORRIBLE! They should no be allowed to do what they do. As I read the other complaints on this page, it is clear to see, I am hardly alone in this. I pray something is done.

Please Help!

I am currently being harrassed by an ameri Credit rep name laurie. She continuously contacts my job and is currently trying to cause me to lose my job.

Yes I am behind in payments, because i was ripped of by the orginal car Dealer (boss chrysler) which is currenlty closed down and americredit. My monthly payments are $600.00 and for the past 3 months I have stopped payment. They have charge me close to $400.00 in late fees. Some of the representatives have been very kind. The threats must stop. No I have no problem with paying them. But I refuse to let vehicle go after paying $10,000. Also the vehicle that was sold had major problems which I had to pay for.

Lauire contacted my supervisor and stated that she was from Adult Children Sevices Boy is that unprofessional. If it continues I will sue.

What should I do.
