Dish Network

Dish Network I have been a loyal customer to Dish Network for 8 years. I have bought = upgrades for HDTV for several of my TV's. Recently I inquired about = lowering my bill. I was told by a "Supervisor" for Dish Network that all = I had to do is to change to 'DUAL RECEIVERS", so instead of 4 receivers = I will now only have 2, AND they will all come with recording devices. I = was also told that my bill would go from $123.00 to $88.68. This was = fine with me. When the installer arrived, he exchanged the receivers and = I now have 2 instead of 4. In other words 2 TV's are linked together. = They work fine, but in the interim I found out that for 5 years I have = paid for HDTV and never received it because none of the technicians = exchanged the dish itself to a HDTV dish. I complained and they gave me = a credit of $500.00, $10 for every month, which is not enough, but I = agreed. Since I wanted to have an extra receiver connected (a dormant = room is now being utilized again) I was told that my monthly bill would = now be $132 instead of the $88.00 I was promised. I again spoke to a = supervisor, who had no record of the previous conversation I had with = another supervisor who sold me on the "Dual Receivers". All this takes = up to an hour on the phone if not longer. After also telling me that I = am now being penalized to not having a phone line hooked up to each = receiver, 5 receivers X $5.00 equals an extra $25.00. No one ever told = me that I had to be hooked up to a phone line and I never was. Now I am = getting dimished service, was signed up for another 18 month and I have = to pay more. Please tell me that this is not legal, these companies talk = you to death on the phone, I am a Senior Citizen and they totally take = advantage of people. Legislation has to be passed to keep this "Highway = Robbery" from occuring over and over again. I want to know how I can get = out of this contract. I do not want to do business with these people = anymore. I need direction, PLEASE! And I know that I am not alone. Thank = you.
