The American Fair Credit has been taking payments from my account for a card that was destroyed years ago. I have attempted to have it stopped but my efforts failed.The only description I have of the account is: American Fair CR DES:PREAUTHPMT ID:AFCA MBR DUES INDN: CO ID:1841

I have just learned (after going through a divorce and taking on all of my bank accounts and billing statements) that I had not been paying attention to for the last 10 yrs or so, that this $5 fee has been charged for a very long time. Has anyone been able to recoup any of the costs from this account scheme? If so, how? I don't even remember using this account since the mid-to late 90's, how it got looked over is a wonder, but now that I've become more financially aware recently (thanks to the end in a relationship) I will keep a much closer eye on all things financial. Have even built a finance spreadsheet. :o)

I am also having this same issue. I have not had the card in over 4yrs and they still continue to charge my bank account $5 per month. I just called the tel# noted on several of the complaints and left a message for Marty / 303-980-1947 I am curious if we have enough to sue these people...

I am having the same issue and it's been happening for 8 years or more. I just called the number given 303-980-1947 and it's an answering machine. If you were able to resolve, could you please let me know.

The American Fair Credit Association is doing the same thing to me and after doing some research I found a telephone number and was able to call and cancel. I called 303-980-1947 and spoke to someone by the name of Marty. He was able to pull up my account with my SSN and canceled it. He also gave me a reference number and said that I was not going to be billed for the month of August. I will wait until the 25th of this month to see if it is true and I will come on here and advise.

I have tried to obtain infromation as to who to call or email yet don't want to stop payment on my account in the case it will damage my credit report.


The account for this card was closed a long time ago and At this time I would just like this closed and not continue to pay 5.00$ a month any longer
