My name is Lesley Fisher. I am a resident of

Escondido, CA. I wanted to alert you of a scam and see if you can help,

either myself with my current situation or others who may encounter the

same issue. In checking my last credit card statement for charges for

July, I noticed an entry dated 7/03:

PACIFIC WEB WORKS TEL8015789020 UT

$49.90

Knowing that I had not charged anything for this amount, I attempted

to contact this company via phone & email to find out what this charge

is for. They have failed to respond. When I went to the internet and

did a search on "Pacific Web Works" to get their contact info, I see

numerous search results indicating that this company is heavily

involved in credit card fraud and business scams.

I immediately contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge

and also inquired about any other recent transcations on my account (I

rarely use my credit card so any charges are very obvious) and found

that on 8/01 another charge showed up under the entry:

PW/E Auction/801-578-9020 UT

$49.90

Note the exact same phone number and dollar amount of the charge.

My credit card company stated that the first charge was for "computer

repair" and the second one was for "retail purchase", neither of which

was incurred by myself. My credit card company is taking care of

disputing the charges. I also had them immediately show my card as lost

or stolen (even though it wasn't) so that the account could be closed

and no further charges made against that particular account.

I am a person who is very careful with my credit cards and my

credit/personal info. I do not know how this company got my information

and was able to push these unauthorized and fraudulent charges

through.

Very truly yours,

Lesley Fisher

Escondido, CA

They are scam artists and refuse to refund any fees they charge. I have called and talked to them and they claim the charges (for nothing) are not refundable. Do not allow them to get away with it! The customer service people barely speak english and you will not get anyware with them. Inundate them with calls on their 800 line and make them pay with their time and phone bills. Good Luck, Mario

I too signed up for a Google Business Kit and another program they insisted on, and they made two authorized debits for shipping of $1.97 and $4.97. However, when I got the email confirmation there was fine print that I had not seen before regarding recurring charges. I called immediately, (20 minutes later) and canceled both orders and was assured I would NOT be charged. They also sent me an email confirmation of my cancellation, but no significant contact info or references, just a generic email. I was charged anyway and the CD arrived in the mail. I marked REFUSED on the CD and returned to sender, canceled my debit card on the advice of my bank.

Someone actually called me on the phone and told me they were with Google and wanted to confirm my order. I told them NO, I had canceled and told them about the scam... he sounded surprised. But when I tried to call that number back, a voice only answers and says, "Good-by".

These people should be arrested.

Not only should everyone contact better business bureau (which has no litigation power) they should also contact the Utah state Attorney General and file a complaint. If enough people complain maybe they will shut them down. Their call center is based in the Phillipines. The only problem with shutting them down under Pacific Web is they will more than likely come back under a different name.

2 years on from the original complaints and Pacific Webworks are still doing the same thing!

We should all file a complaint with the FTC and if they get enough complaints something will be done.

I was also a victim of this company - they claim I downloaded a toolkit and started charging my credit card $59 a mos. I reported them to the better business bureau of Utah & I ENCOURAGE everyone listed here with complaints about them to do the same. I think the Better Business Bureau will shut them down if they continue to get complaints.

We did too. We first got an message on our answering machine stating our package we ordered and was in the mail. after searching for this number, this message and other site claiming fraud showed up, needless to say a charge for 4.95 was on our bill. luckily we caught them before it got worse. and we actually received a web site CD software package.. ironically it contains software for letting people use Credit cards with your web site.. hummm

BEWARE!!!!

I just had the exact same thing happen to me today. In fact, my credit card company caught this and other fraudulent charges today and contacted me. Later this morning I received an automated call from "Pacific Web Works" about shipping a "business start up kit" to my address. I don't know if they're working in conjunction with whomever stole my account info, but I will be getting law enforcement involved so I can collect the IP information for orders placed fraudulently.
