Value City Dept. Store

Value City Dept. Store We recently purchased a pair or dress shoes for my father who is 77 and on a limited fixed income, from the Clarksville, IN. Value City Dept. Store.
The shoes cost about $50. When we took them to my father, they did not fit.( I had paid for them out of my father's checking account).
Meanwhile my father became very ill and we had him in the emergency room twice. When we were finally able to return the shoes, a rude sales lady and a rude manager informed us that no way could we return the shoes as they had no return after 30 days, policy. ( The shoes were in the same condition as when we purchased them.) The manager wouldn't even take them out of the box and look a them.
I got online and looked up other Value City policies, some of them (NY) had a 90 day return policy.
The least they could have done was listen politely while we told them the reason we couldn't return them sooner, but they could have cared less about my dad's illness.
I have been a very good customer of Value City, purchased several rooms of furniture at different time. But I will not be back to their store.
They could have at least let us exchanged them for a pair my dad could wear. Now he out of 50 dollars which he cannot afford.
I hope Value City of Clarksville, In. reviews their policy, especially for their good customers or they won't have many left.
