Sears Cabinet Refacing

Sears Cabinet Refacing

WARNING! STOP AND READ BEFORE GOING THRU WITH SEARS CABINET REFACING.

In July of 2006 I went into a contract with Sears to reface my kitchen cabinets; from day one it has been nothing but a HEADACHE. It started with the sale man Vince who wasn't totally aware of what color cabinets Sears had in stock. I chose one color, come to find out it was no longer available, Vince also stated that the contractors would be able to work according to my time frame, another disappointment.

Once the work was started the contractor himself was okay, he just brought the family along to help out, tell me, what kind of job can you bring the family??

Once the job was completed about 2 months later and I ran into problems the project manager, Dave was rude and not really trying to help. You ask what problems. The cabinets are not worth the $14K that Sears charge they use VERY CHEAP materials. My drawer fell completely apart when opening one day, I had two doors come off the hinges, if you have sharp knives they will go through the seam of the drawers. I mean it is not worth the money. My drawers prior to this renovation were nice and sturdy and I advice anyone if you can have your own cabinets sanded and painted then go that route because Sears is ripping people off.

Recently, I had another drawer fall apart I called Sears since I was within my 1 year contract and here it is 2 months later and I am still waiting on my drawer. First, they send just the face when I ordered the whole drawer, then after another month they give me the wrong size drawer, so, God only knows how long I will now have to wait before the right one comes in. I had under the cabinet appliances prior to Sears working in my kitchen and they were suppose to make my kitchen whole again, well 1 year later my appliances are still sitting on my counter due to Sears not putting them back and right now I am just fed up with their service.

I wish that I could have them give me my old materials back and take this cheap stuff out of my kitchen, for the kind of money I paid I could have bought real maple or oak cabinets. I was not remodeling a mansion just a regular row house kitchen.

I was a Sears card member for over 10 years and I will never purchase another product from their store, auto store or home remodeling and I hope that if anyone is thinking about having some remodeling done to please not use SEARS.

I also sent Sears a complaint letter last year and never received a response. That also goes to show you that you do not want to get involved with a company that will not address your concerns, stand by their contract or sell you shotty materials.
