LQ Hotels advertises a 100% satisfaction guarantee or room is free and they did not honor guarantee. On 5/21 thru 5/25/07 I stayed at LQ in Federal Way, WA. The first room smelled like a bar and had no hot water. They changed the room on 5/22 for the rest of the stay but there was only lukewarm water for 2 mornings and hot water only on the final morning. I complained 3X to front desk who stated the hotel was full and there wasn't enough hot water. The desk clerk even suggested I use the fitness room to shower instead. I was very sick and couldn't fly home, so I filed an online complaint with LQ on 5/23/07. On 5/29/07 I received an email from Kathy Ono, Director of Sales asking if the rest of my stay was satisfactory and I reiterated the hot water problems and my disatisfaction. Ms. Ono acknowledged receipt of my email and said she would discuss the problem with the manager. Since I didn't hear anything back from LQ, on 6/11/07 I filed a complaint with the BBB. LQ in Federal Way. The hotel general manager, Sayed Ahmed, refused to honor the guarantee saying I "never mentioned about her hot water issues when she was at the property." He also acknowledged "We do have signs that says 100% satisfaction. . ." No compensation has ever been offered. I have hard, physical evidence with dates of my numerous complaints.
