The Seafood Factory in Quakertown, PA

The Seafood Factory in Quakertown, PA I searched in Google for the Seafood Factory in Quakertown, PA for the sole purpose of getting their phone number or business hours. They are not usually open for lunch but I heard that they now open for lunch on Fridays. In the search, I found your website and felt obligated to let other people know about the worst experience I have ever had. The four colleagues that accompanied me were equally upset. Today, Friday, August 3, 2007, the five of us went for lunch. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty with only two gentlemen that had been served and were eating. The menu had a flyer with some lunch specials, none of which were seafood, except for the 'seafood bisque' (huh??? the name is Seafood Factory...go figure) Two of us did order the soup with our meals, which we waited more than 20 minutes for it to come out. When we inquired to our absentee server, she said that the soup wasn't ready. When we finally were served, it still wasn't ready! It was slightly warmer than cold, it tasted awful and we sent it back. It wasn't like any other bisque I've ever seen or tasted. Looked like lumpy, dark brown oatmeal. Three of us ordered hamburgers, a basket of fries to share and 2 salads for the other 2 people. The burgers came out another 15 - 20 minutes after the soup. The buns were smaller than any hamburger buns I've ever seen and, to top it off, the bottom of the bun was almost as flat as paper and soaked with grease. (Yuck!!) There was also an issue with waiting for ketchup........because our waitress kept getting lost. She was going to get kaiser rolls for us to replace the sorry looking hamburger buns. About 10 minutes later comes out to tell us they have no kaiser rolls. At this point, nothing would surprise me. We were all hungry and had been there close to an hour already.... so we said what the heck....let's just eat it anyway. The only way I can describe the hamburger is that it tasted sour. It was awful. The three of us could not eat them and I think the meat was bad! The one house salad served with the burgers had not been properly washed and was 'crunchy' from the sand and grit in the lettuce. Inedible!!! All this had taken about an hour and the 'entree' salad had still not been served. When it finally came out , the waitress said it was her fault because she forgot to turn it in with our order. Considering that no one else but the five of us were waiting for what they call 'food', the service from the kitchen and the waitress was deplorable and inexcusable. When we complained about the food to the server, she leaned over and said very quietly...".... this will get better as they will be under new management soon." (not soon enough!) The place was also so dark that we asked for the lights to be turned up so that we could read the menus. Not to mention, very loud music. None of us will ever step into that restaurant again and it deserves any bad publicity it gets. I wish there was more I could do to let people know that this is the last place anyone should eat. One more note - While we were there, a nasty stench was in the air. You could smell the dirty mop the someone was using not too far from where we were seated. Someone else was dusting of the lights. No way should this be done while diners are present!! They did take the soup and burgers off the bill but I think they shouldn't have made us pay for anything. It was, as I said, the worst dining experience I've ever had. From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Monday, 06-Aug-07 07:06:26 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
