David's Bridal / Wedding Dresses

David's Bridal / Wedding Dresses Business Location: David's Bridal, 1605 S Mountain Ave, Monrovia, CA 91016 I am a bridesmaid in a wedding in April 2008, where the bride picked dresses from David's Bridal. Last weekend, I went to pick up the 3 bridesmaids dresses. I inspected the dresses through the plastic wrap, but did not want to take them out in case my hands had any dirt on them. I brought them home, took a shower, and took mine out the plastic to try it on when I found there was a trail of dried crumbs and grease down the seam of my dress. Because it was along the seam, I did not see it in the store. I called immediately, explained the situation, and asked if I could come in the following weekend, since I had an appointment elsewhere. The woman was quite nice, remembered me picking them up an hour prior, and assured me this would not be a problem as long as I brought my receipt. This weekend, I took my receipt and went to David's Bridal with the soiled dress. I walked into the store where "Vicki" was at the receiving desk. She asked me why I was there. I told her that the dress I had bought a week prior had stains down the seam. She immediately accused me of buying the dress elsewhere and bringing it into their store (due to a paper size tag on the dress she thought was strange). I assured her the dress was from their store, and that there was a receipt in their computer to prove it. She then accused me of wearing the dress, spilling food on it, and trying to return it for cash. I assured her this was not the case, that I had bought the dress a week prior for an April wedding. I also explained that I had called immediately upon discovering the problem, spoken with the woman who remembered me, and was told that it was ok to come in the following weekend and they would fix the problem. She responded by telling me that I was a liar, and that I had obviously worn the dress and wiped food on it, since it was from their warehouse and there was "no way" that it came with old dried grease on it. I asked if perhaps it was possible that a warehouse worker, when transferring the dress, might have accidentally gotten food on it, as I was absolutely sure there was no way that I had because (a) I was completely clean when I tried on the dress since I had just showered, (b) I hadn't even eaten that day yet since I picked up the dress in the morning, (c) My husband watched me try on the dress and both he and I know that I only touched the straps (he zipped me up) and went nowhere near the seam of the dress, and (d) it was clearly food that was at least a day old. She responded that she thought I was a liar. Long story short, this continued with both Vicki and Elisha (sp?). I really was willing to work with them, and figure out how to get the stain out, even though I was given a dirty dress. By the time I left David's Bridal, I was crying -- not because of the dress, but because of the character assassination that I was immediately subjected to (being called a liar when I was absolutely telling the truth and being treated horribly). I did find a nice woman there who helped me get the stain out a bit more, but it was really a horrible experience. They were so incredibly nasty, and wouldn't even consider the possibility that I may, in fact, have been telling the truth (which I absolutely was. Because of the age of the stain and crusty stuff, the fact that I was clean and only touched the straps trying it on, and where the stain was, it had to have arrived that way). Not only did they not believe me, they treated me like I was a cheat and a liar. Horrible, horrible experience. One caveat -- some of the other women working there are really quite nice. I want to make that clear. But to get a dress that's dirty, and then get treated so badly when you're telling the truth and trying to be reasonable?
