Sears rebate never received

Purchased lawn tractor 5/5/07 during a lawn and garden promotion weekend

of 5/4-5/07. Purchased on those dates were due a rebate of 10%. Tractor

was $1599.00 so rebate due was $160.00. To date I have not received the

rebate check. I phoned in July and was told that the check had been

mailed in June and that they would cancel check and reissue. I was told

the check was reissued and processed on 7/27/07. I have never received

it. Today I phone and they said they would cancel that check and reissue

even though I asked that it be expedited, which they said they could not

do. They did verify that my address was correct in their system and also

pointed out that "Sears is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete,

damaged, misdirected or postage-due requests/mail." To my knowledge I've

never not received a piece of mail in the 28 years that we have owned

our home. I don't believe that Sears is really mailing the checks.

Anyone else out there had a problem getting Sears to make good on its

rebate offers?

Absolutely! When I emailed about a rebate, they did not respond. There has been no effort on their part to make this buying experience a positive one. It has been a terrible experience dealing with them. Now, they can't even find me in the system. I'm probably just stuck with a broken device.
