Chevrolet Silverado from Maroone Chevrolet of Lake Worth, FL

Maroone Chevrolet

5757 Lake Worth Road, PO B9500

Lake Worth, FL 33466

I purchased a 2007 Silverado 1500 Pickup VIN# 2GCEC13V871173712,

07/21/07, at Maroone Chevrolet used car lot with 19,200 miles on it.

It came with a factory warranty and GM Certified warranty.

The salesman said this truck had a navigation system on it and all I had

to do is insert a disk.

The truck was advertised with a navigation system.

The undercarriage and steering was deplorable on the test drive. The

salesman reassured me that

under the factory warranty and with their certified warranty they will

fix any repairs.

On 07/23/07, Maroone has replaced tie rod end, 2 tires.

On 08/06/07 the steering shaft, a #1 body mount insulator was replaced,

remove and replace transmission valve body removed some debris from it.

However, the truck still wobbles and shakes at 20 – 25 MPH and again at

50 – 55 MPH.

It vibrates and the whole chassis shakes and rattles if you hit a bump in

the road.

The transmission is better (does not clunk) but still slips between

shifting and pulsates.

The service drive manager seems to think that all the vibration, shaking,

and wobbling falls under the flexing of the truck

and the transmission tightens and loosens as you take off.

I found that the navigation system is not capable of navigation as shown

and advertised;

this system is missing another unit that makes it applicable for

navigation with a remote controller.

The salesman took my wife and I over to the new truck side and read to us

the vehicle equipment detail of 16 MPG – 20 MPG Hwy.

This truck only gets 12 MPG in town and 17 on the Highway. I am getting

approximately 75% of its’ rating.

The assistant service manager at Maroone made the foregone conclusion

that all trucks have bad gas mileage no mater what engine or gear ratio.

Also said that the average shown is not the actual MPG. The assistant

service manager said he can not fix the gas problem, but only if a light

comes on.

The assistant service manager said truck body flexing is an inherent of

the truck, General Motors and Maroone Chevrolet are not able to fix at

this time.

There is a service bulletin on this.

Thank You,

Curt Dumitras
