My complaint refers to non-payment by

If you are a freelance artist, stay away from Schmidt Quality Construction,

Inc. of Downers Grove, Illinois.

At the beginning of 2007 I was hired by Schmidt Quality Construction as a

freelance artist to design and deliver two different print ads for two

publications for $400 ea. The ads were approved, delivered on time, and were

printed. I have copies of the two directories that published them. Schmidt

never paid me for my services. Instead they tried to get me to do more

design work for them. Uh, "fool me twice is bad enough, but three times? No

way.

They never return phone calls. They always have an excuse for everything

like, "your payment was sent to the wrong address" and "our accounting

department lost your files" and "your check is in the mail" etc., etc.

I have a pile of emails from multiple people at their company praising my

work and promising me payment. BE WARNED - Schmidt Quality Construction

doesn't pay their bills. Well, not unless you are their cell phone company,

car dealership, gas station, grocery store, etc.

I fully expect to see a posting from their company in response to my

legitimate complaint, revising history, and somehow blaming me for their

repeatedly hiring me, repeatedly using my graphic designs, repeatedly

promising payment, then just ignoring the invoices, emails, and phone calls

for almost a year now.
