West Jet vrs. Flight Center

I went to the trouble of booking a flight for my 88 yr. old mother by =

going to a search engine for cheap flights. I was directed to Flight =

Center and proceded to book a flight with West Jet. I got all the way =

to my credit card info. and kept being redirected saying the information =

was not able to process. I went to West Jet site directly to book the =

flight and was, after all information provided, given a confirmation =

number. I went on holidays, my mom got on her flight and is now in =

Winnipeg. Had a good flight and was pleased everything went without a =

hitch. I recieved my Visa bill and low and behold flight center has =

charged me 369.24 even though I don't have any confirmation that my visa =

was excepted. My visa statement shows that West Jet is the party =

billing my account not Flight Center for the same person on the same =

day. I was told that there would be no credit because the seat showed =

to be sold and the flight left without anyone and that seat could not be =

re-sold. The only way I knew that there were two charges was when my =

credit card statement arrived long after the departure. I am told there =

is no recourse to credit my account because it meant that the seat could =

not be sold and therefore there could be no credit. With no =

confirmation from Flight Center and problem with my card, I tried =

through West Jet, got through, paid and within minutes recieved =

confirmation number. I was told by Abi from West Jet that there was =

really nothing they could do and offered to give me a flight credit and =

when I talked to the supervisor she just told me the same thing its all =

about the loss of revenue should they credit my account for the full =

amount. Here I am recently unemployed trying to do a favour and I get =

a song and dance about economics. What I do know is that the same =

person is apparently double booked and when I gave them her name they =

were quick to point that out. What I do have is one confirmation number =

from West Jet not two separate ones from Flight Center and West Jet. =

The little guy gets stiffed again. I do know that once bitten, twice =

shy and know now why people are hesitant about giving out credit card =

info. Quick to take and slow to return. West Jet was able to give me =

all the information about the person flying, and oh she's leaving at 6 =

and 8.20 but to bad so sad. John Unger
