care credit complaint

care credit complaint I paid care credit on time every month, so I was pretty surprised when I found out that late payment charges of 29 dollars was being applied to my bill each month. I called Care Credit and they explained to me that any payments made the during the first 5 days of a month are counted as payment for the last month. Because I made each payment at the first of the month, I was penalized! I do not feel I was adequately informed of this rule. By implementing this policy, Care Credit managed to gain 87 extra dollars from me. I can only imagine how much money they are making off the rest of their customers with this sneaky little rule. I pay them on time and then when I get my payment it shows they posted the payment to my account a day later. The first and only real time I was late was because I lost my job, Feb of 2009. I was devastated and called them and they said don't worry, You are a good customer. I let them know that I would be making my next month payment late as well because I had to wait for my unemployment to kick in, I did not get any type of serverance package. They thanked me for caliing and said they had noted my account. My husband was laid off in July for a month and got his job back. These people do not have help for anyone. I have been a very great paying customer prior to all our misfortune and have only been late 4 times in 2 years. 2 times they posted my payment 1 day after the due date and the 3rd and 4th time was because of the layoffs. I called today and spoke with a guy by the name of Brock ID# 74217 who was extremely rude and started with an attitude off the bat. He said "that's it there is nothing that can be done for you." So now they have attached a $798.17 interest charge to my account. I am still unemployed and cannot afford this. What can I do? Please help. In February I got a statement for late charges and fees, so again I paid it in full. I thought maybe I missed something. In March I received another statement for late charges and fees, so I called them and paid the account in full and closed the account. The person I worked with assured me the account was paid in full and the account was closed. In April I received yet another statement for late charges and fees, so I called again and this time they were very rude and not helpful at all. So I asked them what it would cost to pay them off and not receive any more statements, they told me I had to pay them $60 to pay them off. If they are doing this to me, then they are doing this to everyone From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Saturday, 03-May-08 12:19:57 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
