GS Motorworks

My complaint is regarding a scooter company called GS Motorworks located in Frisco, Texas. In August 2006, my friend and I each ordered Riptide Scooters online for $1,099. Upon delivery, we found damaged parts on both scooters. We called GS MotorWorks to inform them of the condition of our scooters. The company sent new parts for my scooter (after several calls of complaint) but never sent the new parts for my friend's scooter. From the very beginning, my friend's scooter stalled when he tried to ride it. We called GS Motorworks in an attempt to get his scooter working properly. The mechanic gave us advice but was unable to help us get it running properly. In the meantime, my scooter also started to stall. It stopped twice during a ride. We thought, at the time, that I was out of gas even though the gas gauge showed the scooter still had gas in it. During this time, we called GS Motorworks often for assistance. We were able to find a local scooter dealer who also reluctantly tried to help us. He told us that this product was inferior and poorly made. In spite of his opinion, he also contacted GS Motorworks on our behalf and tried to help us to get and keep these scooters functioning propertly. After we finally received new parts from GS Motorworks and they were installed, my friend again tried to ride his scooter. The scooter stopped no less than 10 times within a 5-mile radius. At the same time, my scooter was operating but not well. It was sputtering and would not accelerate.

Because of the problems we were experiencing, Candiace Turner, the owner had consented to extend our warranty. After continued problems (and safety issues), we finally gave up and told the owner that we needed to return the scooters since they were just not working propertly. She said the company would not take the scooters back. After many conversations, we finally convinced her to take them back and issue us a refund. In fact, I have an e-mail from her promising us that she would issue us a refund. On May 4, 2007, our local scooter dealer crated up the scooters and shipped them back to GS Motorworks. After she (Candi) had received them, Candi informed us that she would only issue us a partial refund because her company has a policy not to give refunds. It has now been 3 months, and neither my friend nor I have received anything from her. She dodges my phone calls and e-mails. I want to make other consumers aware of this company. They are NOT reputable!
