Complaint re: Burger King, copy of receipts enclosed... I just wanted to let you know of my last experience at our local Burger King, located in Pineville, Louisianna. I we there today on August 11th and placed an order. I knew from the total that the order was incorrect or that I have been overcharged so I expressed that to the cashier at the window and asked to see the receipt. She stated she could not give me the receipt to view unless I paid for the meal. Reluctantly I paid for the meal giving her $14.oo in cash, and $3.00 in change plus debiting my visa for the additional $1.82. I didn't have enough cash on me because of the overcharge, and the meal totaled up to $18.82. After viewing the receipt, I explained to her the mistake, and she having a very bad attitude about the whole situation, told me she would call on her manager. Once her manager came to the window I then had to explain it again, and retell her the order. They retotaled it, and the new total was $14.41. I asked regarding the amount on the credit card if they would credit it back the $1.82 that they charged and she said she already did. I requested a receipt showing the credit for my bookkeeping purposes and she told me she couldn't give me one. I asked her that if it didn't show up on my account then what was I to do if I didn't have proof. She said talk to the manager of the store at that time. I explained her that I could not expect him to believe me of a credit due if I didn't have any proof. And she got mad and said 'the manager wasn't that kind of person." I then left it at that. And she gave me $.41 cents back from the cash. I explained to her that it was not the whole amount due back in change and she said 'yes it was, that I never gave her $3.00 in change that I just gave her only $14.00 in cash. And I explained that I 'did'. And at that time she called her manager over. I explained it to the manager and the manager said she would have to count the draw and I said I would wait. (Ps: Side note: When I gave her the cash, plus the $3.00 in change, she dropped a nickle of it out the window, and she said 'don't worry about it') The manager then came back and said sorry, we're not over! And I said then that I did give her that change, that the cashier dropped some out the window.. And I reminded her of that. And even though she acknowledged that, she still called me a liar and said I didn't give any $3.00 in change to her. My receipt shows proof that she did. At the present time I didn't think about going back to the original receipt. I went in the store and tried to explain it to the manager. (I was in the drive through). The manager got in a huff and said that I didn't give them that money and I had better leave or they would call the police. I said to them that that was fine and call them, that I was sticking by what really happened. Well, they came alright, and even though the police said there was a discrepancy, that they did not have the authority to tell them to refund the money. After I left the store, I then did have the presence of mind to remember the receipt. Both of them. The original one with the mistake, also showing how much money I really gave them, plus the new on retotaled up showing them the different I was due. I went to the police station to ask if I could go back and get the receipt and they called the store to make sure Burger King has it. They did. And the cashier/or manager told him over the phone that they gave me the change back. (A new story).. I went back and sent my daughter in to get the old and new receipt and it is inserted in this email. I really want justification over this. I have never been so insulted over being called a liar in public. Also, the cashier while I was in the store took great pleasure over telling the people in the line! Trying to embarrace me further over the whole deal. I am greatly insulted by being treated thus. My husband works for the federal government and I do not need to lie to get money at our local burger king. It is just the moralness of the whole thing that is upsetting. And I just wanted to let you know. And it maybe pointless, but this is important to me. PS; the police officer from Pineville, La dept on Main street, will back up my story. PS: Before I went in the store while in the drive through, after she told me she credited my bank card for $1.82. She did give me $.41 cents back in change. When I told her that wasn't enough, She told me that was the change back from the cash. Now if my order came to $14.41, and she said that I only gave her $14.oo in cash, and she was sticking by that... then why did she give me change. And she told the police office over the phone while I was there at the station talking to them, that she gave me $3.00 back. She then on the phone changed her story. Why then also? Why $3.00. The only change I was due was $2.59. She wasn't admitting to her mistake in the first place, and the manager was backing her up calling me the liar that I never gave them the money to begin with. Sorry to be bothersome once again with this. ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour --cb0.181930b7_alt_bound Content-Type: text/html; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD><META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; charset= =3DUS-ASCII"></HEAD> <BODY id=3Drole_body style=3D"FONT-SIZE: 18pt; COLOR: #000000; FONT-FAMILY= : BixAntiqueScriptHmk" bottomMargin=3D7 leftMargin=3D7 topMargin=3D7 right= Margin=3D7><FONT id=3Drole_document face=3DBixAntiqueScriptHmk color=3D#00= 0000 size=3D5> <DIV>I just wanted to let you know of my last experience at our local Burger= =20 King, located in Pineville, Louisianna.
