Broadband / Virgin Media

Broadband / Virgin Media Virgin Media Group United Kingdom. A technical support person was called out to come around to my mothers house to help her fix her internet connection which had gone down for some reason when Virgin Media took over our old Internet Service Provider. Up until that point we had a router setup with a home network wired up in the whole house, my little brother could play his video games, I could go surfing whenever I wanted..etc However when they sent a technical support person to our house he told my mother she shouldn't be using a router as it was against virgin media policy. He then sat on her PC and deleted the router's entire configuration and software and plugged her back into the single cable modem. The router has stopped working, so now me and my little brother cant use the internet. He also deleted and modified other files and when my mother questioned him about his actions he behaved in a very brash fashion now I was absent at the time as I live elsewhere but personally I would have liked to have met this so called technical support genius. I'm a linux user and I wouldn't have let him in the door. And behold on the virgin media website they advocate setting up a home network in just such a fashion.. http://www.virginmedia.com/digital/homenetworking/settingupahomenetwork.php Does this mean we've been deliberately sabotaged by there so called system's support person because they want us to purchase one of there routers? If so I am very displeased.... From: Message Author (click here to email author)Date: Sunday, 08-Apr-07 17:11:18 CDT Business: Reply Online Consumer: Comment On This |
