BAIT AND SWITCH TACTICS ON WARRANTY Complaint against: Brian Beattie (owner) Jeff (sales person) PB's Auto Village of Hampton Falls Inc. Po box 730 Lafayette Road Hampton Falls NH 603-926-9500 On 7\25\2006, I Jason C. purchased a 2004 Cadillac Deville DTS from PB's auto village for my girlfriend Julie M. for the sum of 19,500.00. I did the negotiations made the down payment and have made all the payments on the vehicle even though the vehicle is hers and in her name. When we purchased the vehicle I had told Jeff an employee of PB's auto village that we were not interested in the warranty program. I told him that I thought drive train warranties were a waste of money. Julie went to PB's later that day to sign the paperwork. Jeff had her sign warranty papers anyway without explanation to her and without approval. He made her believe all the paper work was standard a purchase agreement as well as finance agreements. Julie brought the paper work home that evening. I reviewed it and noticed an extra charge for a warranty. I said to her I told them no warranty. She said he just told her to sign this, this and this and didn't explain a thing. She just signed. I went down to the dealership and spoke with Jeff and Brian Beattie (the Co-owner). I told them I didn't want a warranty. They said that they upgraded us to a bumper to bumper warranty for an extra $1372.00 above the agreed price. I told them I still didn't want it. They said they would refund my money but I would be crazy not taken a warranty on a car with so many electronics. I asked if it covered everything and they said "everything" I gave the example "If the radio breaks is it covered?" They said "absolutely!" They said that I can bring the vehicle to any Cadillac dealer and they will honor the warranty. I said if covers everything I will purchase it. After about a month or so the service airbag light came on. We also noticed problems with the GPS as well as the heater on the steering wheel (only one side heated). I called Jeff and told him that we had issues with the vehicle and asked him how we use the warranty. He asked if we received the warranty card. I told him no. He said that we should be getting it anytime soon. He said the he would call the company "Millennium" and see what the hold up is. He said that he would call us back. We got no call back. I called Jeff again and he said that we should get the card anytime. We got the card a week later. I called a Cadillac dealer and he said that they do not accept these warrantees claiming its difficult to get paid with them. He said no Cadillac dealer will accept them. I called the warranty company about this and they said we do not have bumper to bumper just drive train. I called Jeff back and he told me that we are supposed to get the bumper to bumper that he sold us. He said he will look into it right away and get this fixed. When I talked to him next he said there was an error. He said that they gave us only the drive train warranty. He said he can give us our money back or he will upgrade us to the Bumper to Bumper. I told him to give us what he sold us. He said that it will be by the beginning of Nov. before we get another card with the right warranty because this is when they renew everything. We waited. We called the first week of November and told him we didn't get anything yet. He said that he would make a call and call us back. I ended up calling the next day. Jeff said to call on Friday. I called on Friday and they said it was Jeff's day off. I spoke with Brian. He was very rude stating we are not getting another warranty and we are not getting our money back. I went down to the dealer on Monday. Spoke with Jeff and Brian together. Jeff denied ever talking to us about this stating he doesn't know what we are talking about. Since then we needed an inspection sticker. Julie went to PB's auto village. They failed the inspection stating the wheel barons are no good. None of the problems have been fixed and the car can't get a sticker. These people are criminal scoflaws operating on bait and switch tactics. I warn anyone who is planning on conducting business with these people to think twice and go elsewhere. The Better Business Bureau has recieved a copy of this complaint and this is in the process of going to small claims court.
