Outrageous overdraft charges without notification.

I had a mishap in my checking account. The problem was it took 10 days before I was notified. By that time I had $400. in charges. For every $2. and $5 i spent on the debit card, they charged me $35. I found this to be unacceptable. I went to branch and complained. They only could tell me to watch my account more closely. After an hour they reduced the fees by $100. I seriously think Wachovia withholds the notices so they rack up the charges.

Don't feel bad. It's happened to me too. They were trying to tell me that I had five check card purchases that put me into overdrafts. When I calculated it myself and compared it with my records and reciepts, it showed that I really only had two that put me into over drafts. Those two check card purchases totaled to a whopping $5.51, yet I was charged for what they said were FIVE charges that mathematically turned out to be only two. If you do the math i shouldn't be charged $175 for overdrafts but instead just a simple $70. When I explained that to, not only a customer service rep., but also the branch manager AND the corporate office, they all flat out told me that they couldn't do anything and that I couldn't do my math right! What nerve! Needless to say, I am not going to be with Wachovia any longer.
