Sears, Exton PA

THE WORST EVER!!!!!! Jan 1st ordered a new stackable washer and dryer and purchased the extended warranty, thank God!!! Jan 2nd ordered a rush hot water heater (ours exploded.) Waited the 3rd-5th (took time off of work) and they:

1.Told me the warehouse was in New York (day one)

2. Told me they were wrong, warehouse was in PA where we live, they just didn't know where (day 2)

3. That it wasn't in stock (day 3)

Meanwhile we have no hot water. Went to Lowe's on Saturday, got same one cheaper with installation the next day (Sunday.) Amazing. Canceled the one through Sears. customer service called for about a week asking if I was completely satisfied with my hot water heater. Each time I told them we never got it due to how terrible their customer service is.

Jan 11, washer and dryer is delivered. The old one had steel braided hoses that were leaking, I was told new ones would be provided and HAD to be installed with every washer. Delivery guys told me that they could only hook up hoses but not my dryer vent b/c the one I had was plastic and I needed metal. No problem, I can hook that up myself. They leave and as I go to look at the vent I notice they put the old, leaky, hoses on, turned on the water and now I have floor and drywall damage. I call Sears and the delivery guys say they KNEW the old ones were leaky but the ones that came with the washer were rubber and were not up to code. HUH???? MORONS. So they hook up ones they know are leaky and never say anything to me about it? How do they know that I even am aware that they are leaking? My finace and I put on new hoses and a new vent. About 2 months later the unit makes a weird noise, a spark shoots out and the whole thing dies. I call Sears and they tell me it will be 8 days until someone can come out. In the meantime we call our electrician to come out just to make sure it wasn't the wiring. Nope, seems the "installers" hooked up the ground wire incorrectly and it shorted out the whole machine. We were told we would need a new one. Off to the laundrymat. 8 days later the service guys come out, tinker around for a while and declare it fixed. They leave, I go to use it about an hour later all the washer only spits out water, does not spin or do anything else. I call Sears and am told it will be another 8 days. I flipped. My finace goes into the store we bought it from and were are told a new one can be delivered a week later. Off to the laundrymat. New one gets delivered and lo and behold the idiots crossed the cold and hot water. No problem, we will pull it out ourselves and fix it. Uh oh, can't do that. The new one is a new model, a little bit wider and they jammed it so tight into the laundry space that there is no getting it out. Did I mention that they actually took off quarter round and baseboards in my bathroom to do so? Nice huh? they never asked me if it was ok to do so. Called Sears, it will be a week before someone can get out.

So that's today. I called for the time frame last night and was told since it's not a "delivery" they cannot give me a time frame and and to stay home between 8am and 7pm. It's 1pm, still waiting. We spent over 60.00 doing laundry at the laundrymat. We have hundreds of dollars in repair to drywall, flooring, baseboards and quarter round.

I will never, every buy anthing from Sears. We bought a new house and Lowe's got all of our business. We are renting out my condo where this happened and updating all appliances, Lowes will get that business too. I feel it is my duty to tell anyone who listens how bad Sears really is. And guess what, no one at Sears cares. if one more thing goes wrong with it, which I'm sure it will, Sears will take it back with no re-stocking fee and we will do our business elsewhere. If they charge a re-stocking fee, it will end up in the walkway in front of their store.
