Unreasonable Customer Service at Collections, Etc

On 4/6 I placed an online order with Collections, Etc. I had gotten an

online coupon/promotional code for a $5 discount with them. However, when I

started to place my order, there was an offer for a 10% discount on the

entire site, which would show up on the check-out page. Didn't happen, and

the site wouldn't allow me to go back and input the other promotional

discount code. I emailed them using thei "customer service" form and asked

about the 10% discount. They emailed back later in the day and told me that

had to be done at the time of order (?) and they were sorry for any

inconvenience. They said I had to go to another site, which I did, and it

told me I could use the 10% NEXT time I ordered. I emailed once again,

using their form, and requested that they then apply the other promotional

discount, the one for $5. They emailed promptly back and said, sorry, no

can do, that also must be done at the time of the original order. Also

within the day they confirmed my order (paid by credit card), and let me

know one item was on back order. Fast service, for being so shoddy. So

this morning 4/7, I called their customer service number and got 'Alex'. I

gave her my confirmation number, she pulled up my order, I repeated my

situation, she said she was sorry, but she couldn't apply either discount. I

requested to cancel the order, and she said that was not possible. I asked

to speak with a supervisor, who was named Stacy, and she said the same

thing. I pointed out their "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed", and she just

repeated that she was sorry for the inconvenience - I could send the stuff

back. I realize that they are out of Illinois, and I am going to send this

to the Attorney Generals' offices both in Illinois and New York. When a

company offers "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed", they need to be forced to

honor that. I would not recommend for ANYONE to do business with a

disreputable company like Collections, Etc.
