Sprint PCS -- What contract is that?

I was with Sprint for over 6 years, and never had a contract, never agreed to a contract. (Never took a discount rebate on a phone).

Last month I switched to Verizon and was then notified by sprint that I owed them $200 for breaking the contract. Seems that they

slipped one in one me in Oct 2006, and they claim they sent a notice of new contract. I never signed it, never agreed to anything.

I figure they do this as a matter of course, as most people will just pay to make them go away.

Now I have to deal with them legally as phone calls to them are fruitless wastes of time.
