Moving Services --- Intercontinental Van Lines Name of Business : Intercontinental Van Lines Address: Pinebrook, NJ I have used Intercontinental Van Lines for my move from Iselin, NJ to Ocala, FL, and I would recommend to everyone NEVER EVER TO USE THEIR SERVICE. Address: Pinebrook, New Jersey. They are nothing more than a rip-off for the customers. The services they provided were really pathetic. I had asked for the complete service, in terms of packaging and moving, the initial quote was around $3,500 but later they charged me close to $ 9,000. I had insurance for the move from the moving company, but still they don’t want to pay me for the damaged/missing goods. Staff: Never ever work with their staff, named Lisa, Stephanie, Joe, etc as they are full of lies, deceit. They have been completely unethical. Stephanie is the worst of them all, as I left quite a few messages for her, and she never responded. Joe is the sales person, who would talk about his father being an engineers and how great he is. He tries to sell you, and give you the wrong (very low) quotes. He can’t be trusted. Lisa, tries to show that she is there to help, but does nothing to get things moving. On the other hand, she told me that the only way, is for me, is to take the legal route. Pick-Up Not on Time: I had called them to pick up on Saturday and had explicitly told them to get everything done, in a single day, as we had some plans for Sunday. The move was for a 2- bed room apartment. The pick-up crew didn’t show up till noon, and when they came in, they told me they were hungry. So, I went out and got them some sandwiches, to eat, and spent $50 from my own pocket to feed the crew of 5 people. Once they were fed, they started the work around 2:00p.m. and didn’t complete the move that day. They said, they could not complete the move. On Sunday, they came and spent the day in packaging, ( this time only a crew of 2 showed up, in spite of knowing the amount of move).I had to cancel my plans for that day. Quote not believable: The initial quote was approximately $3,500 for the move, however, when things were packed, the final quote was $9000. Delivery Not on Time: I was promised that the goods will be delivered to me by Wednesday, but it didn’t show up till late Sunday evening. The deliverers were just interested in tips, and did a very lousy job in assembling the furniture. They would not deliver the stuff, unless, I paid them in cash. Again, a reflection of their rip-off nature. Missing and damaged goods: The goods which was delivered was damaged and some to an extent that it could not be reassembled. The shippers who came didn’t assemble all the furniture because lot of things was either missing or damaged. Many of my expensive frames and pictures were never delivered. They went missing. The packaging they did was so bad, that they had packed the kitchen food supplies with the bedroom sheets and all my bed sheets needed replacement, as the food supplies spilled all over the sheets. The estimate of the damaged and missing goods was in the excess of $5,000. Unresponsive: All this happened in the middle of January 2007, and I had been calling them every other day, for the re-imbursement and at least get the goods inspected. My calls were never answered. I left them till now at least 100 messages. Lies : Lisa, the other lady, popped up on the call, once and she said that she would help me resolve the dispute. But no action from her side. I had asked her to send me the re-imbursement form, so that I can fill that out, she sent me only one side of the form, and later with many calls, she sent me the other form. I completed the form and faxed the form, I was told that someone was going to reach me, but nobody called me. Lisa, later told, that they could do nothing and told me to contact the lawyers for the re-imbursement. I found Intercontinental Van Lines from the internet, had never dealt with them before. I regret my decision to use them. Not only was the service very expensive, but very poor. The staff is rude, unresponsive, and full of lies. I lost goods worth close to $5000, using them. I request everyone never ever to use the Intercontinental Van Lines. Thanks Purva
