HP Notebook Office Depot Rebate Scam
|
HP Notebook Office Depot Rebate Scam I purchased an HP notebook for my daughter at Office Depot in Reston Virginia on 10/29/06. I promptly completed and shipped all forms for 3 rebates, 2 from HP one for $30 and one for $70 which were promptly received. However, the third Office Depot rebate for $150 remains unpaid. $150 dollars turns a fair deal into a rotten deal. Follow up with Office Depot is characterized by obfuscation. This appears, from my Office Depot rebate problem research NOT uncommon for Office Depot. Two months ago I purchased another notebook and that vendor (Micro Center) did ALL the rebate paper work on-line real-time for me AT THE CASHIER during check-out AND the rebate was promptly received. The real-time check-out rebate model is THE ONLY model for rebates I will now consider! Micro Center is a trustworthy efficient customer service oriented vendor! Office Depot is not trustworthy, not customer service oriented, and from what I gather running a known rebate scam. Shop at a reputable firm! Buyers Beware of Office Depot!
