Arco Gas Station - Tracy, CA April 4, 2007 This is for the Arco Gas Station located on Joe Pombo Pkwy in Tracy, CA. I was driving home from Tracy to Stockton and needed to fill my gas tank just a little to make it home. I decided to stop by this Arco Gas Station because it was located right near the freeway. (Note: This was my first time there.) I went to pay automatically, so I didn't have to go inside of Arco's store. I accidentally entered Pump #8 instead of #5, and I pressed cancel and entered Pump #5 to be charged. After filling up my gas tank a little ways, I went inside of the store to explain my situation and to make sure no one charged to my card from Pump #8. They told me that the ATMs outside and inside were not working and that I didn't have anything to worry about, but I had to pay in cash using the ATM withdrawal off to the side. I questioned this but did it anyway and paid the amount I had in cash. I went home and signed-on to my card's account to make sure everything was OK. I checked the transaction history; nothing was OK. Not only was my card charge for what I had on Pump #5 (luckily Pump #8 wasn't charged to my account), but I also paid in cash with the $20 withdrawal I made inside of the store. I called the gas station and said I wanted the amount charged to my card reversed. The man said he couldn't do that, but he took the amount I paid in cash out of the register and put it aside with my name on it, he also said I could stop by any time to pick it up. Two days later I was ready to go pick up the money, but I called first to make sure it was still there. The woman who answered the phone totally ignored me and didn't understand what I was saying, not only that, but she hung up on me three or four times. She told me she didn't see any money and said to call back when the manager came. Fed up, I called my card's company and asked for a reversed transaction. I am still waiting for the results. I will not be going to that gas station anymore in the future, not because of the money I lost, but the fact that all of their employees are completely incompetent and have horrible customer service.
