Kafko Pool Liners

Kafko Pool Liners We purchased a Kaflo Pool Liner in 1999. This liner supposedly came with a 15 year warranty. Last year at the end of the season the liner started coming above the water line. I contacted Kafko who told me "under warranty" the price of a replacement liner is $1200 - $1500 dollars. This is the pro-rated price with warranty. According to their warranty paperwork I should be receiving 40 percent off the list price. If you search the internet its plain to see you can purchase a new liner for my size pool for anywhere between $700 and $1000.00. Kafko told me they can't control what people re-sell their liners for. Well I doubt very much that people selling Kafko liners sell them at a loss.
I was told that the liner coming apart was due to the "sun:" Correct me if I'm wrong but most people use their pools when the "sun" is out We live in Syracuse New York in Syracuse New York so for the 7 years our liner has been installed it has been exposed to the "sun" for about 2 and 1/2 years.
Not only am I extremely dissatisfied with their warranty policy, when I contacted Kafko the two people I dealt with apparantely could care less about my situation. When there are so many companiies out there competing you would think pleasing the customer would be a big focus. Well not with this company. Hope to save lots of people some major headaches - stay away from Kafko Pool liners. The liner that was installed before putting this one in lasted for 20 years. Unfortunately we bought the home with the pool installed so I have no idea the manufacturer of that liner, but I will find out.... The response was: Mr. Wiley, Your liner did not come apart at the seam. It did split where the pattern changed but that is not a seam in the liner. This liner is not covered under our warranty. We only warranty what we manufacture here and that is on the seams of the liner. The vinyl comes to us in rolls and we take those rolls and seam them together to make a liner. Thanks a lot and have a great weekend. Shannon Mahoney Kafko Pool Products Excuse me !! I only get four years out of a product that is supposted to be a quailty product. Whatever you do... NEVER NEVER NEVER buy anything from Kafko Pool Products, they will take your money up front, and thats it.... they do not stand behind what they sell.
