Complaint about Roomful Express Furniture (McKnight Rd., Pittsburgh, PA)

This happened to me a while ago, but seeing how frequently this chain of stores appears on complaints.com, I want to chime in with my own story.

My former roommate and I purchased a set of bedroom furniture from the Roomful Express on McKnight Road. When it was delivered one piece was broken, so we refused delivery of it and kept the rest. They promised to replace the broken part, but never did. After a while we decided to return everything but the actual bed, because it didn't appear they'd be replacing the broken part anytime soon. They said they would come and pick up the stuff we were returning.

Several times the drivers did not show up. My roommate and I both wasted one or more days waiting for them. After several tries, they finally showed up, only to say they could not take the furniture that day because they didn't have enough men to move it. I found this stupid because they should have known what they were picking up.

I called a manager to reschedule yet again, and he tried to tell me that the time period for returns was almost up! Well, I gave him an earful about how hard we had been trying to return it. Eventually they did come and take the stuff, but this was after many weeks of screwing us around.

They offered us a $100 store credit to make up for the hassle, but I had no desire to set foot in there again. Nor did I think a store credit (worth a small fraction of what we originally spent there) made up for the very poor service.

If I had only checked this site before wasting my time and money. I don't recommend that store to anyone. There were a lot more small things I found unappealing, which I won't go into now. Suffice it to say I found the entire ordeal unprofessional.
